…introducing Bria Denae

Little Bria was born on June 26. She weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces. Bria is a cute little peanut. I met her mama Michelle in 2003. This was the year we both started our first teaching jobs. I have learned so much from her, and I treasure her as my friend.

Bria loves sleeping with her small hands cuddled next to her face. She also loves staying awake when I visit to take her pictures.  I like to think it’s because she recognizes my voice and wants to hang out with me. She fits perfectly in the palm of Dad’s hand…

…and a cute little yawn in Michelle’s arms below.Congratulations, Brett and Michelle! I am so happy for you two!

…five facts

1. I am officially a cool phone owner. This baby  has a camera, texting, email, Facebook, and is a mini computer. How did I survive without this gadget for so long?

2. Goodbye 616, hello 408. My “new” area code. After living in CA for seven years, I finally made the switch.

3. RIP blue flip phone. (2005-2010) . You were even there for me on my wedding day. I feel bad that I donated you to the Women’s Shelter without even giving my decision a second thought. Maybe I should have kept you. You served me so well. I’m glad you cannot talk because you know waaay too much about me.

4. I miss Penny, Duncan, and Tucker. They are the dogs we took care of this past weekend. I didn’t know even know how much I loved dogs. Here’s one of Penny taken with the new phone…

(…her fur is so pixelated, it looks like I painted her).

5. I am such a night owl. It’s 2:11 am.  I’m attempting to blog regularly. I didn’t want to say it because I will probably jinx it. If you are usually a quiet blog reader will you leave me a comment today? Pretty please? It will motivate me to be consistent, and I love reading your comments!

…little drake

So Bo has a buddy. This sweet boy is Drake. Drake and Bo took swimming lessons together this summer. They like hanging out on the weekends, playing trucks, and talking baby talk.…he put his hands together like this by himself. Waaay cute.
Bo let Drake wear his golfer hat for the shoot. (They are already borrowing clothes just like their moms do).Drake and his momma, Becky…

…baby Bo.

Remember this post from last summer?

Meet Bo. He’s 10 months now, and loves to zip around the house. When he’s not skating around in his baby walker you can find him sitting in front of an air conditioning vent or shooting hoops at the Ludington Macker.

Below: a post game pic taken on Father’s Day. (Dad’s Bo’s team won). Naturally. Bo surprised Dad with a new golf club that morning. He picked it out all by himself. What a thoughtful little guy.

…and because Bo is just too cute, I’m adding more of him below.

…a real post

Sorry to put up an invisible post on you.  A friend of mine has written a book! Yesterday we got together to take her “author picture.” I don’t want to spoil her debut here. So I’m keeping those hidden in the secret post box for now.

Harry and I are taking care of three dogs for the weekend. This morning I took the two big dogs for a 4 mile run. Or should I say they took me for a run. At a stoplight, a biker pulled up next to us and asked who was working harder. Pretty sure it was me. Last night we took the dogs swimming.

Here’s Harry giving Tucker some advice on the latest doggie paddling techniques.

On Wednesday night, Harry and Matt performed as actors for a little movie. David filmed the two of them in my kitchen delivering a few non-traditional “church announcements” for this Sunday’s service. Here’s a preview of how it ended.

Last but not least, Harry surprised me yesterday. I came home and found these…

…I’m holding 3 dozen cookies from Tom’s Mom’s cookies located in Harbor Springs, MI. Why 3 dozen, you ask? Well, Harry is trying to convince me that “30″ isn’t always a bad number. I’m turning 30 in eleven days.If you’ve been on the hunt for the second best chocolate chip cookie in the world, go here to order them. If you want the world’s best ones, you can call my mom . Right, mom?

…and Katie, you’re theory that everything is always better at the cottage still stands. These cookies are definitely delicious in San Jose, but I agree, they are waaay better at the cottage.
